05 - All Those Years

Just another broken home
Young mother all alone
Little girl is accident prone
She's got the bruises to show
Young boy skips school again
But someone's got to earn the rent
I'm sure it wasn't meant to be this way

Dad's working late again moms losing weight again
Teenage girl in a state again
She's had enough
She's so tired of feeling down
No one ever seems to be around
Finds others ways of feeling loved

But who's got time to hide
Just show your good side
Besides you've long since cried your last tear
All this will fade with time
And somewhere down the line
They will be sorry for all those years

Young father works with ease
And momma does just as she please
Little girl watching DVDs their careful what she hears
And Grandma's full of praise
So proud of who she raised
But time will not erase the memories of all those years

Sometimes I wonder where it all began
Who was the first to break a broken man?
And then I wonder – where will it end?
Because a broken family is even harder to mend

But who's got time to hide
Just show your good side
Besides you've long since cried your last tear
All this will fade with time
And somewhere down the line
They will be sorry for alll those years
